Statement of Peer Review Policies
Peer-review is the system used to assess the quality of a manuscript before it is published on International Journal of Business in Sports, Tourism & Hospitality Management (JBSM). Peer review of manuscripts through the editorial communications and decisions assist the author in improving the paper.
All submissions to JBSM are first reviewed for completeness and only then sent to be assessed by an editor who will decide whether they are suitable for peer review. Independent researchers in the relevant research area assess submitted manuscripts for originality, validity, and significance to help editors determine whether the manuscript should be published in their journal. Submitted manuscripts will generally be reviewed by two or more experts and be judged primarily on their substantive content, but writing style, structure, and length are also very important considerations. Reviews should be conducted objectively. Personal criticism of the author is inappropriate. Reviewers should express their views clearly with supporting arguments.
The editors will reach a decision based on the opinions or recommendations in these reports also consult with members of the Editorial Board. Authors receive peer review reports with the editorial decision on their manuscript. Any manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents. They must not be shown to or discussed with others except as authorized by the editor.
