Global Academic-Industrial Society (GAIS)

About Us
Established in 2000, the Global Academic-Industrial Society (GAIS) is an international nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing high-quality scholarship and fostering meaningful collaboration between academia and industry. Founded by scholars representing more than 20 countries, GAIS serves as a global platform for researchers, educators, and professionals to exchange knowledge, share innovations, and develop solutions to complex challenges through interdisciplinary dialogue.

Mission Statement
Our mission is to provide integrated support in university admissions consulting, career planning, faculty development, international academic exchange, research collaboration, executive education, and global higher education partnerships—including sport management and business consulting—while promoting interdisciplinary research, facilitating international collaboration, bridging academic inquiry and professional practice, cultivating inclusive scholarly communities, supporting impactful research dissemination, and creating partnerships that contribute to sustainable global development.

Global Conferences and Collaborative Engagement
GAIS organizes international joint conferences designed to encourage cross-disciplinary exchange and strengthen academic–industry partnerships. Our inaugural conference, held in Tokyo in 2017, welcomed nearly 250 delegates from over 40 countries. Building on this success, our 2019 conference at Waseda University in Tokyo attracted more than 425 participants. These gatherings provide dynamic forums for presenting research, fostering innovation, and building lasting professional networks across cultures, disciplines, and industries.

We offer comprehensive support in higher education, professional development, and international academic collaboration across three main areas.

Admissions & Student Success Services focus on guiding students through undergraduate and graduate university admissions, providing career planning and professional development support, and offering targeted interview preparation and coaching to enhance application success.

Faculty & Academic Consulting Services support educators and institutions through U.S. faculty training, ongoing professional development, international academic exchange programs, research collaboration, and executive education initiatives designed to strengthen academic capacity and global engagement.

Global Higher Education Partnerships emphasize building strategic international collaborations, including U.S. sport management and business consulting, aimed at connecting institutions and expanding global academic and professional opportunities.

Overall, the services are designed to bridge students, faculty, and institutions with global education and career pathways, with a strong emphasis on international collaboration and applied professional outcomes.

Scholarly Publications
GAIS advances research dissemination through its sponsored peer-reviewed journals:

  • International Journal of Education, Teaching and Learning (JETL)

  • International Journal of Business in Sports, Tourism and Hospitality Management (JBSM)

  • International Journal of Health, Nutrition and Exercise Science (JNES)

These publications serve as important venues for interdisciplinary scholarship and the global exchange of ideas that inform education, industry practice, and policy.
